The Bixby Cemetery is located at 6498 E 151st ST (US-67) in Bixby, OK; at the corner of E 151st St and South Sheridan Road.

Notice: The Bixby Cemetery Main Gate on E. 151 Street South is open 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. The Sheridan Gate Entrance is automatic gate that is open from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. everyday.
The Bixby Cemetery main gate on E. 151st Street South is open 8:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M. Monday through Friday. The Cemetery is accessible seven days a week from 7:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. using the 2nd or farthest South gate entrance on Sheridan Rd. It is a sensor gate that will open and close automatically when you approach.

Appointments are needed for gravesite selection to insure both the Cemetery Superintendent and the Cemetery Administrator are available to assist families. These appointments will be scheduled no later than 4:00 P.M., Monday through Friday in order to ensure that the family and City Staff have sufficient time to process the grave location and necessary paperwork before closing time. Payment is due in full at the time of purchase. You will receive a deed in the mail in about a week. For more information, or to schedule an appointment, please contact the Cemetery Administrator.
Up to 3 cremains may be interred in a single space. If there is going to be a traditional, casket burial; that burial would need to happen before any cremains could be interred. And, if there is a traditional, casket burial, a maximum of 2 cremains could be interred in that space. However, if there is no traditional, casket burial intended for the space, up to 3 cremains could be interred in the space. Any and all cremains interred within the Bixby Cemetery must have a burial card on file for our cemetery records.

Bixby Cemetery allows one upright monument per grave space, and only at the designated area at the head (or West end) of that space. Also allowed are flat markers like foot stones, cremation memorials and corner markers; but no more than 2 flat markers per space. These flat markers must be flush with the surrounding terrain. They may not be raised above the ground level. All monument orders must be submitted to the Cemetery Administrator for review and approval prior to production. Monuments/headstones/markers may only be set in the Bixby Cemetery by a monument company; and the Cemetery Administrator must receive 48 hours’ notice prior to coming into the Cemetery to set a monument. Please note that benches, urns, boxes, shells, fencing, etc., are strictly prohibited by City Ordinance. Such articles, if found upon the premises, shall be removed. Cut flowers or artificial arrangements are always allowed in permanent vases that are attached to the headstone. For funerals and holidays you may place wreaths, grave blankets, flowers and temporary plants on grave spaces. Wreaths, blanket wreaths, flowers, or any other adornments must be pinned to the ground so they do not blow away. All decorations which are not in permanent vases will be removed from the grave space five (5) days after a funeral or holiday. The Cemetery Superintendent may remove and/or dispose of any fresh cut or artificial flowers that fade, become wilted, discolored, damaged, or are otherwise unsightly. No planting of trees, shrubs, flowers or the like shall be permitted. No articles of any nature shall be placed upon the surface of the grave space except as herein specifically set out. They will be removed.
Five (5) days before Memorial Day; and they must be removed no later than five (5) days after Memorial Day.
Flowers, wreaths or any other articles of adornment which are not in permanent vases will be removed from the grave space within five (5) days of placement.
The Veteran’s Monument is located near the center of the Bixby Cemetery, along with a flag. Names of U.S. Veterans that are interred in Bixby Cemetery can be added to the monument. Proof of Military Service and a $50 engraving fee are required. For more information, please contact the Cemetery Administrator.
A small flag may be placed at grave spaces throughout the cemetery for the Memorial Day weekend that has an existing Veteran’s marker on the space, or possibly a Veteran’s headstone at the head of the space.
A group designated by the City may facilitate a special commemorative “Memorial Day Service” on Memorial Day that includes a variety of events. Flags are put up throughout the cemetery for the weekend; and a civic organization may have small flags placed at the grave spaces that have an existing Veteran’s marker.
A family can honor their loved one with a military marker and/or headstone provided by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Please contact the Cemetery Administrator for more information. The City Administrator needs to be notified at the time of ordering, be provided a copy of the VA Form 40-1330 and Proof of Military Service, and will need to gather additional information. No monuments or markers are permitted to be set in the Bixby Cemetery without prior approval from the Cemetery Administrator.
