In order to comply with the Shelter at Home Executive Order that became active on April 1st, 2020, effective immediately all facilities, including fishing docks, at Bixhoma Lake are closed. While the Order encourages “Essential Activities” such as engaging in outdoor activity, it also mandates that individuals comply with physical distancing requirements of a minimum of six feet. With the high traffic of those utilizing Bixhoma Lake, the fishing docks do not provide sufficient space to meet safe, physical distancing requirements. At this time the shores and the Lake remain open. However, should conditions warrant, a future, full closure of the Lake may become necessary. As a reminder, playground equipment, picnic tables, and other facilities that would encourage gatherings and require sanitization in all Bixby Parks are closed.
