Fire Fighter spotlight banner with open hand made of fire

Captain Doug DriscollGrowing up and living in the Bixby area his entire life, Captain Doug Driscoll has dedicated over 24 years to the fire service. He has fulfilled his duties as captain for the last 10 years and in doing so has set a high standard for respect and leadership within the department.

Captain Driscoll has certifications in Firefighter 1 & 2, First Responder, Vehicle Extrication, LPG, Hazmat Ops, Ropes 1, Ag Rescue, Trench/Confined Space Rescue, Water Rescue, Fire Cause and Determination, Instructor 1 and Fire Officer 1. When asked what made him want to become a firefighter, he simply stated that growing up around other firefighters and hearing their unique stories persuaded him to pursue a lifetime of helping others. Captain Driscoll also added that every call has something about it that you will remember for life, whether good or bad.

He and his wife and high school sweetheart, Paula have been married for 27 years. They have one son, Cody. Anyone that knows Doug, knows that if he’s not at the fire station or at home with his family, he’s most likely in his boat fishing! As most firefighters do, captain Driscoll worked a second job for over 19 years as a diesel mechanic for a Caterpillar dealership in Tulsa.

The Bixby Fire Department and the citizens of Bixby are fortunate to have had the service of Captain Doug Driscoll for all these years. He has and continues to set a fine example of hard work and character for the next generation.
