Community Support
In support of this years Tulsa area Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA), the Bixby Firefighters held a community wide Chili Luncheon at Station 2. Approximately 75 community leaders, families and MDA representatives attended the event in an exceptional show of support. The benefit raised over $1200 for the MDA.
Ambassador
Oklahoma’s MDA Goodwill Ambassador, Jillian McIntosh, brought a smile to everyone as she met firefighters, community leaders and checked out the trucks. Jillian lives in Owasso with her mom, dad, brothers and sister. She was diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy 3 in 2006. The Bixby Firefighters have chosen to designate their support to SMA, Jillian’s disease.
Fill the Boot
Bixby Firefighters will continue their efforts to raise support and awareness for the MDA through the summer with the annual “Fill The Boot” campaign. Watch for a Firefighter at an intersection near you.
